Billing charges and payment information relating to your outpatient care at Physicians' Surgical Center

Physicians' Surgery Center, Lancaster General Health takes great pride in assuring that every patient receives the highest level of services; this also applies not only to the outpatient surgical procedures we perform, but also to the way our Business Office handles your account. We aim to provide clear and easy to understand communication regarding your visit, including registration, surgical procedures, discharge and billing.

Billing Charges

The total cost of your surgery will be comprised of a number of independent charges. You will receive a bill from Physicians' Surgery Center for the facility fees, but you will also receive billing from another provider.

Facility

The Physicians' Surgery Center will charge a predetermined "facility fee" based on CPT codes for the use of our Center, which includes some of the following items:

  • Use of the operating room and surgical equipment
  • All supplies and drugs used during the surgery
  • Provision of nursing personnel for your care

Surgeon

Your surgeon will generate a charge for his/her professional services (performing the actual surgical procedure).

Anesthesiologist

The administration of anesthetic agents are provided and/or supervised by an anesthesiologist; a charge will be generated by the anesthesia company for their services. All anesthesia care at Physicians' Surgery Center is provided by Lancaster General Health Physicians Anesthesiology.

Testing

Any pre-surgical testing or specimens obtained during the procedure will be billed to your insurance plan by the facility providing those services.

Payment Methods

Insurance

Please bring your current insurance card(s) with you on the day of your procedure. We will submit a claim, on your behalf, to the insurance company for our facility fee. You will be financially responsible for any deductible, co-pay and/or co-insurance, as determined by your individual plan coverage.

Self Pay

Prior to your procedure, we will estimate the cost for our facility fee only. Our Business Office will contact you to discuss a payment method. You may pay with a major credit card, cash or a personal check.
